Frank Sweeney is running as an incumbent Whitefish City Council. Frank has lived in Whitefish for more than 20 years with his wife, Paula. They are avid horse enthusiasts, hikers and skiers.
Frank has served three four-year terms as Whitefish City Councilor and is currently Deputy Mayor. Prior to his experience on the Whitefish City Council, Frank was Chair of the Whitefish Planning Board, served on the Glacier Institute Board, was Chair of the Foys to Blacktail Trails and served on the planning committee for a Trail Runs Through It. Frank enjoys telemark skiing at Whitefish Mountain Resort, and was a Big Mountain ambassador leading mountain tours for four years.
Frank received his law degree from the University of Houston and has 40 years experience as an attorney, specializing in business law. He understands the depth of issues brought before him, is reasonable, thoughtful and evaluates situations based on merit and fact. He believes Whitefish government should be economically viable, fiscally responsible, and represent the hearts and minds of its community.
